Malissa Powell
HARRISONSVILLE, MO.
Malissa Cloe Powell, 91, formerly of Hardin, died at 7:05 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at
the Cass Medical Center in Harrisonville.
She was born Jan. 7,1913, in Hardin, the only daughter born to the late James Irvin and
Malissa Jane (Snider) Powell.
She married Vernice Powell, a lifelong farmer in the East Hardin area, Nov. 21, 1945. He die d Jan. 30,1982.
She was a graduate of Hardin High School, and was instrumental in the formation of the Pentec ostal Church there, where she served as the church pianist. She also assisted her father in t he office of the Modern Woodman as a secretary.
Surviving are a niece and several nephews, Audrey Decker of Jerseyville; James Peeler of Memp his, Tenn., Charles Edward, Amos and Terry Peeler, all of California; and many great-nieces a nd nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, preceding her in death were three brothers, Raymond and Howa rd Peeler, and Forrest Peeler in infancy; and a nephew, Ray Edward Peeler.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at noon Wednesday at Crawford
Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Ed Boker will officiate.
Burial will be beside her husband at Hardin City Cemetery.
