Line 2 shows John Wood, age 26, male, a day-laborer, with personal property worth $150, born in Virginia.
Levina Wood (though it looks like it is spelled “Savina”), age 38, female, born in Indiana.
Sarah J. Newhouse, age 15, female, born in Indiana (this is Levina’s daughter from a prior marriage.)
Benjamin Harlan Newhouse, age 11, male, born in Indiana. (I believe this is Benjamin Newhouse, Sarah’s brother, from Levina’s prior marriage to James Newhouse.)
Louisa Wood, age 4, female, born in Indiana.
(Newton) Jasper Wood, age 2, male, born in Indiana.
1900 Census for Monroe Township, Delaware County, Indiana has Newton J. head of the household, as 42 and his wife Emma A. as 39 and the children are; Maude A. 19, Minnie M. 16, Leona 14, Charles O. 12 and Harley D. 10.
1910 Census Newton is 61 (should be 51) and Emma is 48, they are living in Monroe Township, Delaware County, Indiana with the following children; Harley D. 26 and his wife Ada E. Gustin age 16.
January 12, 1920 Census for District 52, Monroe, Delaware County, Indiana line 93, has Newton J., as head of the household, as male, white, age 61, married, literate, born in Indiana, father born in Virginia, mother in Indiana, employed as a plasterer.
Emma A., his wife, female, white, was 57, married, literate, she and her parents born in Indiana;
A grand-daughter, named Allice (Alice) Annabelle Conn, female, white, age 9, single, literate, Allice and her parents were all born in Indiana. (Alice’s father is Andrew Sylvanous Conn and mother Leona Kate Wood Conn. Leona died May 08, 1917. Appears that Newton and Emma were raising their grand daughter. Alice's name was originally Wanmalla but was changed to Alice Annabelle.)
An Ellie Moody, relationship to head of house not legible, female, and white, age 42, divorced and literate lived with them. Ellie was born in Kansas, her parents born in Indiana. Ellie was working but I can’t determine at what.
Finally, there was a Cliford Jones, I can’t make out his relationship either, male, white, age 20, single, and literate. He was born in Indiana, his father in Virginia and his mother in Kansas. Cliford was working as a day laborer
April 23, 1930 Census Enumeration District 18-32, Monroe Township, Delaware County, Indiana
Newton J. Wood, head of the household, on Oakville Road, owned his household, valued at $1,400. They had one of those newfangled radios. Did not live on a farm. He was male, white, age 71, and married. He was 21 years old at the time of his first marriage. He was literate. He was born in Indiana, his father in Virginia and mother in Indiana. He was working as a brick mason in the building industry. He had no military service.
Emma A. Wood, housewife, female, white, age 65 and married. She was only 14 years old when she first married. She was illiterate. Born in Indiana. Her father and mother were also born in Indiana. Emma kept house for a private family.
Ada B. Wood, (daughter-in-law) [Harley's wife], female, white, age 37. Ada was a widow. She was literate; she and her parents were born in Indiana. She was employed as a “roler” (whatever that is) at a factory.
Ada’s children, Violet Wood, female, white, age 16, single, was going to school and was literate. Violet and her parents were born in Indiana.
Esta M. Wood, female, white, age 12, single, literate, was attending school. Esta and her parents were born in Indiana.
W. Francis Wood, female, white, age 10, single, literate, was attending school. She and her parents were born in Indiana.
