- Lived in Haberdeventure with Thomas. Served in First Federal Congress.
Elected a Representative to Congress from the State of Maryland and served from 1789 to 1791. While in Congress he was one of those who voted for locating the seat of gov at Washington.
On his return to the county, Michael Jenifer Stone was made Judge of the Circuit Court of Charles Co, a position which he held for many years andin which he served with honor and distinction.

Michael Jenifer and Thomas were very close as evidenced by Thomas Stone'sWill naming him as guardian of Thomas' son and giving Michael lifetimerights to live at Haberdeventure. Michael later ventured into politics,and was eventually elected to the First United States Congress in 1789.Later he was appointed Judge of the First Judicial District of Maryland.
