The original Fogleman ancestor that I am related to is George Fogleman who came over with the Shoffner family (my grandmother's family) in the 1700's on the Ship Shirley which arrived in Philadelphia.
Left is a picture of my grandfather, John Page Fogleman, when he was young. The Fogleman and Shoffner family came to this country from the same town in Germany. In fact, Michael Shoffner I, was married to Margaretha Fogleman (Vogleman) when he arrived in this country in 1739 [sic] 1751 on the (ship SHIRLEY; arrived in Pennsylvania; settled in Almance Co, now Burlington, N.C.
My grandfather's parents were John Tyler Fogleman and Frances Shoffner Fogleman (pictured below). There were married during the civil war on December 31, 1863, the following is reported be their wedding photo.
