- She married Walter Hanson, a Charles County merchant, the son of Samuel Hanson and Elizabeth Storey, and the nephew of Col. Robert Hanson, his wife ELIZABETH 's step-father. His wife had nearly 1450 acres ofinherited land at the time of their marriage. As ELIZABETH HANSON she was named as a granddaughter in the 1756 will of her grandmother Elizabeth Wakelin Harrison Thome and received a slave, as did her children, called great grandchildren (Will 31:283).
ELIZABETH HOSKINS is thought to be the mother of all his children. After her death he married secondly on 4/20/1783 Elizabeth Hanson. WALTER HANSON served as sheriff, commissioner and a justice in Charles County. He served as a Captain in the American Revolution, and after the War held more Charles County offices. He died in 1794. Their single son WALTER HANSON, JR. wrote his will on 11/7/1785 and it was probated in Charles County on 11/26/1785 (Will AH#9:145). He named all of his siblings in his will.
