I, JOHN COSBY of Barren Co.,, state of Kentucky, do this nineteenth day of September 1840 make and publish this codicil to my last will and testatment for good reasons to me thereunto moving I desire by may. . . I do hereby constitute & appoint my Grandson JOHN C. EMERSON as trustee in trust for the management of the part above bequeathed to my son ARCHIBALD Y. COSBY to be by said trustee applied to the use and benefit of my said son ARCHIBALD COSBY in that manner that said trustee may conscientiously believe would be most beneficial to my said son, and I further desire and wish RUSSELL BARRACK & FRANKLIN SETTLE to be my Executors in the room and stead of them that is named in my foregoing will as above. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.. . ."
