Indenture tripartite made May 25, 1743 between Thomas Egerton, one of the devisees of Charles Egerton of St. Mary's County, and William Egerton son and heir of James Egerton, one of the other devisees of the afd Charles Egerton of the 1st part, George Luxford of Annarundel County of the 2nd part, and John Hicks of St. Mary's County, Gent, of the 3rd part, witnesses that, wherein a common recovery was had at a Provincial Court held at Annapolis the 3rd Tuesday in May, 1743 before Levin Gale, Esq, Chief Justice and his Associates, Justices of the same Court, of a tract of 2400 acres of plantable land, being part of all that tract of land on the east side of Piscataway River, and on the south side of a creek in the sd river called Piscataway Cr, and bounded by the bounded tree of Randall Hawsons, an Ashen Swamp by the creek side near an Indian Field, on the north with sd Cr, on the west with the River and the land of Randall Hawsons afd called, Calvert Manor, lying in PG, containing and laid out for about 3000 acres, wherein the sd George Luxford was demandant and the sd John Hicks was tenant, who vouched to warranty the sd Thomas Egerton and William Egerton "and they two the Common Voucher" and whereupon a writ of seizin has been issued and executed, as by the record and process of the sd Recovery, remaining in the Provincial Court may appear, which same recovery was had to the end that sd Thomas Egerton and William Egerton might be enabled to convey to sd John Hicks, an estate of inheritance in fee simple, of and to sd 2400 acres of land. Now this deed witnesses that sd Thomas Egerton and William Egerton, for 240 £ of paper money to them paid by John Hicks, have sold to sd Hicks, sd 2400 acres of land. Charles County Land Record Book G#3, 1756-1761; Page 218. Instrument of Writing. Indenture made Dec 5, 1757 between Daniel Hodgkins of CC, planter, and Randolph Morriss Hawkins of CC, witnesses that Daniel Hodgkins, for 3500 lbs of crop tobacco in hand paid by sd Randolph Morriss Hawkins, does by these presents bind his two sons, John Allen Hodgkins (aged 16 last Jun 6) and Charles Hodgkins (age 14 next Christmas) servants to sd Randolph Morriss Hawkins, until they arrive at age 21, to be employed in any lawful business which sd Randolph Morriss shall employ them in If John Allen or Charles should die or run away, or enlist themselves as soldiers before age 21, in such case, he hereby binds any of his other children, servants to sd Randolph Morriss. And whereas the children who may hereafter make up such losses of time, may not be of equal value to the times of sd John Allen or Charles, the sd Daniel and Randolph Morriss hereby agree that such difference shall be adjudged by two honest men, one to be appointed by each party. Charles County Land Record Book G#3, 1756-1761; Page 219. Aug 10, 1758 from John Hanson Jr of CC, Gentleman, to Randolph Hawkins of CC, planter. Whereas sd John Hanson Jr, in Apr term last, by writ of entry sur diseisin le post, recovered against sd Randolph Hawkins, all that part of a tract of plantable land called Wheelers Hope, lying formerly in cc but now in Prince Georges County, which is bounded by Piscataway [Cr] Main branch, containing 122 acres. The recovery is recorded in the Provincial Court of Maryland. Now this deed witnesses that the true intent of John Hanson Jr and all the parties to the recovery, is that sd recovery should inure to the use and behoof of Randolph Hawkins.

Jul 3, 1771 from Mary Hawkins of CC, relict and executrix of Randolph Morris Hawkins of CC, decd, to John Barnes and Thomas How Ridgate of CC, merchants, pursuant to the will of sd Randolph Morris Hawkins and for 500 £ 17 shillings and 1 hogshead of rum, Mary sells to Barnes and Ridgate, as tenants in common, all that part of a tract of land called Goats Lodge, lying in CC, which is bounded by the easternmost boundary of Zachia Manor, land called Baltimores Bounty, a branch of 2achia Swamp, land called Hawkins' Purchase, containing about 421 acres. Sep 12, 1765 from Randolph Morris Hawkins of CC, planter, to John Glassford of the City of Glasgow in North Britain, merchant, for 221 £ a tract of land called Goats Lodge, lying in CC, and bounded by the easternmost bounded tree of Zachiah Manor, bounded on the north by sd Manor, thence to a branch of Zachiah Swamp, then with the Run of sd Branch to the land formerly Capt. Josias Fendall's (Fendal's), containing about 150 acres. Also, 50 acres of land joining the afd tract, being part of a tract formerly called Fair fountain and afterwards Hawkins purchase, given by John Hawkins and Elizabeth, his wife, to Thomas Hawkins, father of ad Randolph Morris. Also, 2 Negro slaves, Moses and Aaron. If, however, sd Randolph Morris Hawkins pays sd Glassford the afd sum with legal interest from today, by sep 12, 1770, then this deed shall he void. I, sd John Glassford, by Robert Peter, my attorney in fact, for 288 £ 9 shillings and 1 penny, being the principal sum and-interest, to me in hand paid by John Barnes and Thomas How Ridgate of CC, merchants, I have sold and transferred to Barnes and Ridgate, as tenants in common, the within deed of mortgage and the 2 tracts of land and other premises within mentioned, with one moiety going to Barnes, and the other moiety going to Ridgate, subject to the proviso within contained.
