  Notes	He was one of the original settlers of Stratford (now Bridgeport); was Captain, deacon, merchant and farmer and a rich man in those times. Besides certain lands recorded to him in Stratford, the Fairfield Record (1703) shows six parcels the gift of his father and four others by purchase. From his will, 1748-1753, it appears that he had already given portions to his daughters, and devises his remaining estate equally among his seven daughters or their representatives.
