Irene's parents were Andre LeMaire and Marguerite LeBlanc (b 21 Apr 1810 in St.Martinville); grandparents were Joseph (Josine) LeBlanc, b 1762 in ow Hill, MD and Marguerite Bernard; and g-grandparents were Osite Melancon, b 21 Sept 1732 and Jean Pierre LeBlanc b 11 Apr 1726 who were deported to Snowhill, Maryland during the Grand Derangement from Nova Scotia and lived there for several years before moving to Louisiana.
