United States Army veteran of World War II; paratrooper in 517th. He served in Italy,France, Germany and Belgium (including the Battle of the Bulge). He received, among other awards, a purple heart and a Presidential citation, serving as an honor guard to President Eisenhower at the signing of the treaty at Versailles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers and one daughter, Virginia Barker Collicott.
Survivors include his wife Martha (Furby) Wagar; daughters Anita Roney, Sue Barker and Laura Moyer; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
