According to the Marriage Records Book I, Page 54 on file in the court house in Raymond, Hinds County, Mississippi, the following is a copy of the marriage license and bond for the marriage of William Crocker Bounds and Araminta Drew Chpaman:
William C. Bounds to D.M. Chapman.
This is to certify that I am willing for William C. Bounds to be married to Arriment Dru Chapman, my daughter, this the 30th day of August 1827.

In the State of Mississippi, Hinds County.
Know all men by these presents that William C. Bounds and James A. McRaven, both of Hinds County and state aforesaid, in the sum of two hundred dollars lawful money of the United States for the payment of which well and truly to be made; we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, jointly, severally, and finally by these presents.
The condition of the above obligation is such that if there be no lawful course to obstruct the marriage of the above bound William C. Bounds with Arramint Dru Chapman, then the obligation be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
Given under our hands and seals this the 31st day of August, 1827.
