William Jones was born in 1855 in Henry Co., KY, the sixth eldest of the 13 children of Lewis Jones. In 1877, at the age of 22, he married Rachel Louisa Harrell. The Henry co. marriage record says she was 18 but was actually 16. The record also gives conflicting spellings of her name i.e. Herald, Herral. Her father Samuel was born in Indiana, but her mother was born in Henry Co., No record of their marriage could be found.
The U.S. Census of 1880 reported Lewis as a farmer working on his father's farm in the Lockport district of Henry Co.
Sometime between 1880-1890 they moved to the Willisburg area of Washington Co., KY and established their own farm. Lewis & Louisa had 8 children:

Annie b. 1896 d. 1941 Wife of Daniel Hardin 1896-1963 brother of Pearl Hardin. They lived in the Mt. Zion area of Wash Co. and are buried at Evergreen Cem. in Willisburg.
Willie b. 1897 d. 1949 Wife Lela b. 1903 as stated on a gravestone at New Hope Cemetery in Maud, KY
All of the children were enrolled in school according to a school census of 1896. William died when Albert was 7 years old, which would place his age at 42 in 1897.
Louisa was born 4 June 1861. After William's death she remarried at age 45 on 19 May 1906 to W.M.Derringer (also spelled Dearinger). She died of heart disease at age 65 on 1 Aug 1926 in Springfield and was buried in New Hope Cemetery with no gravestone.
A Sam Paul Derringer ( born 17 Oct 1906) was closely related somehow. According to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY he played for St. Louis 1931-33, for the Cincinnatti Reds 1934-42, for Chicago 1943-45 and pitched in 4 World series games. His last known address was Tampa, FL in 1969.
