  Notes	Ephraim Stone, the son of William Stone, was calculated to have been born in Surry County, North Carolina in 1792. He was later married on 5 January 1821 in Surry County to a woman named Catherine ?Caty? Crouse. 296 Catherine, who was also a native of North Carolina, was calculated to have been born there in 1802. Although Ephraim and Catherine later moved into the state of Georgia, they appear to have only resided there for a few years. They eventually moved to Tennessee, however, where they settled first in Bradley County, but later settled on a farm in Cumberland County. Ephraim died on 22 February 1877 in Cumberland County, Tennessee. Catherine, on the other hand, was last found on the 1880 census of Cumberland County residing with her son, Wesley. NOTE: The offspring listed below as (female) were abstracted from available pre-1850 census records. These are also believed to be Ephraim and Catherine?s children, but have yet to be positively identified. The 1830 census of Surry County, North Carolina shows males 000001 - females 22001.
