NOTE: William Middleton, Jr. was apparently son of Martin Middleton (the 2nd Martin, deceased's brother), for he could not have appraised his father's estate.
William Middleton, SENR and by his decease becomes the property of Martin Middleton his son and by his lw&t (ed: Last will and testimate) becomes the porperty of his son Stephen Middleton. - ref:A103-104, A104-106 & C239 dated 19 Apr 1800.
Not sure if this is the right William: In 1816 Martin buys, from several different people, their "right to tract granted to William Middleton called Weavers old field."
Not sure if this is the William referenced here (but it seems very likely): In 1773 William Middleton of Marion Co. died. Appraisers of the estate (worth 4000 pounds) on April 24 were William Middleton Jr, Gideon Gibson, and Gideon Gibson Jr. On the same day, Joseph Holland's estate
was appraised by Gideon Gibson Jr., Martin Middleton, and William W. Middleton, Jr. The following people owed money to the Middleton estate:
Wm. Alston Gideon Gibson Sr., George Gibson, John Berry, Jordan Gibson Sr., Benjamin Blackman, Peter Keighley, Thomas Brewinton, Isaac Nevils, Frederick Jones and Jacob Goings
