- This Benjamin Ball who married Ann Owen(s) should not be confused with the Benjamin B. Ball, son of Daniel Ball (the son of Edward Ball and Kezia Williamson Ball) who married Ann McIntosh. It is believed that Benjamin B. Ball went to Kentucky. There was a will filed in Fauquier Co. (Will Book No. 6, p. 15) dated 13 September 1813 wherein Ann Ball, the widow of Benjamin Ball, granted to here five children: James Ball, Elizabeth Jeffries, Mary Creel, Elizabeth Dillan (Dulin?) and Benjamin Ball, her property. If this Ann Ball were the wife of the instant Benjamin then that would make her about 95 years old at the time of her death. On the other hand, if this were the Ann McIntosh Ball, then it would be puzzling that if she and her Benjamin went to Kentucky, why was the will filed in Fauquier Co., VA. and why did she claim she was "of Fauquier Co.?" Further research is needed. There is also another Benjamin B. Ball who married Catherine Sutphin about 1840, whose son, Benjamin Ball married Cecelia Tharpe, the daughter of Smith H. and Narcissa Hinson Tharpe 25 January 1876. in Fauquier Co.
