- 18 Jan 1682: THIS INDENTURE made ye 18th day of Janry. Anno. 1682 and in the Foyer and thirtieth yeare of the Reigne of Or. Soveraigne Lord King Charles the second &c. Between GREGORY GLASSCOCK of the Parrish of Farnham of the County of Rappa:, Planter, and MARY his Wife of one part and THOMAS GLASSCOCK of the County and Parrish aforesaid, Planter, of other part Witnesseth that the said GREGORY GLASSCOCK & MARY his Wife for Six thousand pounds of merchantable Tob: in cask to them in hand paid or secured to be paid have granted unto the said THOMAS GLASSCOCK his heires forever Two hundred acres of land being part of a Pattent for Six hundred acres formerly granted to his Father, THOMAS GLASSCOCK, deceased do decending unto the said GREGORY GLASSCOCK as heir unto his said Father lying and being on MOROTICOE CREEK in the County aforesaid begining at a Pockicory in ye line of a peice of land survayed for Mr. WILLIAM FANTLEROY & runing down a N. N. West branch of the said Creek its severall courses to a Cove next below the house Collo: TRAVERS formerly lived in and since in the occupation of Mr. THOMAS WILKS, and runing up the said Cove to a wild black Cherry tree at the head thereof, thence North East to a red Oake in the back line of the said 600 acres, thence No. We. to a marked Maple standing in a Branch wch runns between the Plantations of THOMAS GLASSCOCK and his Brother, GREGORY GLASSCOCK and tuning downe the said Branch its severall courses to the mouth thereof crossing a small Creek on a South West course to the place it first begann, as it was lately laid out or survayed by EDWIN CONWAY, Survayer of the County aforesaid, as by Copy of the Survay under his hand bearing date Janry. 15th 1682 giveing and hereby granting unto the said THOMAS GLASSCOCK together with the land, the plantation with all houses gardens orchards unto said land appertaining together with all the right wch said GREGORY and MARY his Wife or either of them hath to the same To have and to hold the said Two hundred acres with all the premisses unto the said THOMAS GLASSCOCK his heirs subject nevertheless unto the quitrents wch shall henceforth grow due to be paid and the said GREGORY GLASSCOCK will warrante and defend the said THOMAS GLASSCOCK his heirs forever and the said GREGORY GLASSOCK. & MARY his Wife will make any further Deeds for the further sure making of the premisses unto the said GLASSOCK at any time within the space of seaven years next ensuing this present date In Witness whereof the parties aforesaid have hereunto sett their hand and seales.
