Salem Cemetery Killbuck, Holmes County, Ohio
A very gracious lady who lives in Holmes County, Ohio, located and photographed this cemetery for me as a huge favor. She stated, "This cemetery is on TR 85 on the border of Holmes and Coshocton Counties. It is about 2 miles from my home, so I knew the area; however, it was a little difficult to find. You take RT 82 off of SR 60. There is a sign there for Overman's Natural Foods. Stay on that road (it veers off to the right.) When you come to a T (RT 85) turn right. The cemetery is on the left a few feet down this road." Her blog can be found at:

Notes |
- Nov. 6, 1847 Marriage of Sarah Jane Castor (or Caster) and Abraham Randles, Coshocton
1850 Ohio Fed. Census, Holmes Co, Killbuck Twp. page 116, Enumerated July
(from Richard Skinner) Sara Jane was tall and slim and smoked a corn cob pipe. Her first husband was believed to be a man named Riddle. Her second husband was Abraham Randles. Her third husband, a man named Perry.

From Linda Randles as posted on Findagrave:
Holmes County Census of 1850:
Abraham 58
Sarah 24
Nathan 17
Mary 14
Hannah 12
Mary A. 3
Issac 1/12
It has been said that Abraham was married twice... A very good question here - WHY would any parent name 2 daughters still at home and only eleven years apart MARY???
The 3 year old Mary is obviously NOT Abraham's daughter.
I believe the Census shows from ages etc. that Sarah Castor was the widow of Benjamin Castor who died and was buried in Old Victor Cemetery in Iowa.
Abraham at his death is listed in the Salem Cemetery Interment Book, as the husband of Elizabeth. Why is there no mention made of a 2nd wife Sarah, if there were additional children born to him?
I have been searching newspapers in Holmes County, Oh. and have yet to find an obituary for Abraham Randles Sr. There is a notice in The Holmes County Farmer on March 8th, 1860 that names an Abraham Randle & his wife. (See article at above right)This article does not state Probate or deceased...so this Abraham is a LIVING person.
Thomas, the son of Elizabeth & Abraham who was living in Illinois however did "farm" out his children, because he was widowed and disabled with Rheumatism. The Isaac Randles in Illinois was a son of Thomas.
I do not appreciate the link to "Sarah Castor Randles" this is why we can not find ALL of the needed information.
I still have found no proof of that Abraham Randles was 2nd married to Sarah Castor. Cemetery records state that he was the husband of Elizabeth.
