- In 2009 when John had his YDNA test the results came back as match in 37 and 67 tests. No common denominator was found. On Feb 27, 2013, a tester in the Oglesby group, Richard Arthur (Oglesby) Wilson, was a match to him in the 37, with a step 2 match. As it turned out, the Sheltons married into the Oglesby line with the marriage of Gustavas Adolphus Oglesby, so assuming that must be the reason the Shelton line showed a match.
Richard Arthur descends from Jesse Oglesby; and Gustavas descends from Contant, Sr., Jesse and Contant being brothers, Jacob Oglesby being their father, making Jesse the great-uncle of Gustavas.
