- LULA MAY THOMPSON MEEKS
Lula May Thompson was born in Casey, Illinois, on December 9, 1894 and departed this life on March 9, 1963. She came to Gage, Okla with her parents when very small, where she made her home until she was grown.
In 1919 she was married to Alva Meeks in Arnett, Oklahoma. She was ready to meet her savior as she was converted at a revival meeting at the Eddy School house. Later she and her husband were baptized in the Baptist Church in Arnett, Oklahoma, where she lived a true Christian until her death. She was always ready to do the lord's work. She taught the Junior girls Sunday school class for several years. She was loved by all who knew her and was a kind and loving wife and mother to her family.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Alva, of the home; a son Carl of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter Lelia Simms, of Gage, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, Kay Schoenhals of Arnett, Carolyn, Evelyn, Lelia, Larry and Garry Meeks of Amarillo, Texas; 2 great grandbabies, Kenna and Karra Schoenhals of Arnett, who will miss her so very much; 2 sisters, Mrs. E. B. Cully of Gage, Oklahoma, Geneva Sloan of Hutchison, Kans.; 3 brothers, Charlie Thompson of Gage, Roy Thompson of Woodward, Luther Thompson of Vinita and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was all that we could ask for. Such a happy loving wife loved by all who came to know her. Always had a cheery smile and her stay on earth among us was a joyful one we knew, and her cares will be with Jesus, and with the angels she will sing.
