- Lucretia Viola (Oglesby) Broomfield, age 90, of Dodson, LA died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at her residence in Dodson, LA. She was a member of the Dodson Church of Christ. Mrs. Broomfield was a Gold Star Mother and the last of 14 children. Before retirement she was the owner of the Skelly Service Station in Dodson.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the Dodson Church of Christ with Bro. Paul Havener officiating. Burial followed in the Transport Cemetery in Dodson under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Lucretia Broomfield was preceded in death by her husband Norman A. Broomfield; two sons, Ronald G. Fairless and Ted D. Broomfield; and one grandson Robert Glenn Carpenter.
She is survived by her one son Conrad Broomfield Sr. and wife Jamie of Dodson, LA; two daughters Joyce Gay Roncal and husband S. G. of Dodson, LA, and Sharon "Sha" Leger and husband Preston of Dodson, LA; seven grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Conrad Broomfield Jr., Richard Broomfield Jr., Michael Broomfield, D. J. Leach Jr., Shawn Coleman, and Adam Gray.
Honorary Pallbearer was Richard Broomfield, Sr.
