Photos | Doak, James Henry and Harriet "Adelia" Burke Photo provided to me by Karen Harrison Nabours, great-granddaughter. The couple had 10 children, 5 boys, 5 girls. Karen's grandfather was Norman Samuel. She thinks Norman, Lyman, Wilburn and Coin are not in shown here. She believes "Ellen is the left of Grandma Doak and maybe Sadie is hidden in the background. The man in the back is Grandpa Doak." She states the photo was given to her by Norma Jean, a daughter of Norman. Apparently matching children with the photo, it appears that front row going from right to left, youngest is Barney, then Almeda, Charlene, and Woodrow. James Vaughan, son of Ellen, states in an email 23 May 2014 that " It is hard to believe that Charlene and Woodie were twins. Huge difference in size. I think the girl looking over my grandmothers shoulder may be Sadie. I think the girl to the far right is Coin so I assume the girl you can barely see is Ellen. The three older brothers are not included. Perhaps working in the mines or moved away by that time." |
