Subject: Joseph Ephraim Forman marriage to Charlotte Gaskins
Since I often use and cite your tree I felt it only fair to share that I found marriage information at familysearch.org for this couple. Unfortunately it doesn't give parents names, which initially gave me concern that it might be the younger Ephraim... But since he was already married and the wife living, it seemed not to be.
In any case here it is:

Hi, Donna. Thanks for this!
It's interesting, and maybe a little confusing. I have in my notes something published online from LV Hayes, who I communicated with back in the 1990s - that Ephraim Sr. M2 Charlotte Gaskins. But if the marriage was in MS in 1924, like you say, it's not working. He was in St. Landry in 1810 census, unless he moved back, which is unusual. On the other hand, LV surmises that he never moved from MS into LA. So, that would mean the Joseph Ephraim in 1810 is somebody else. Jr. was b 1798; so not him in 1810.
Documentation shows him m to Charlotte Stutts 1813 in LA. I assume there's documentation Stutts is mother of all the children? I don't have that in my notes. I suppose Jr could have m2 Gaskins but that would mean children born after that date would be Gaskins, not Stuffs - but we're in the wrong place, unless he went to MS to get married and came back ??? Kind of reaching.
I need to get the Natchez Court Records book down and see if I can find something in it that might clear it up.
There's another Ephraim who was son of Edward Forman Jr & Nancy Perry - Nathan Ephraim; but he was bt in 1801 in Opel; m Tilithe Forman, who was child of Eprhaim Sr & Brown. Maybe Gaskins his m2? But not likely. Maybe yet another Ephraim?
If you figure it out for sure, let me know, and I'll do the same. It's a wonderful puzzle piece! Thanks!
