  Notes	From "Lingering Shadows" Vol II by Jack Curtis: Sarah Cole, dau of James Cole, III & Jemimah Curtis, m. ca 1802 to Stephen Jett, son of Stephen Jett, Sr. & Phoebe Crawford; Stephen & Sara moved with James & Jemima in 1804 to St. Landry Par. LA. In 1830 they moved to Texas & received an original land grant on18 Feb 1835 on Adams Bayou, Jefferson Co. TX. They were entitled to a league (4,428 acres) and a labor (177 acres) given by the Mexican Government to a married man with a family. Stephen died at their homestead 1 May 1837.
