- EDINBURG - Patsy L. Palmquist, 88, died at The Bridges in Edinburg after a lengthy illness. She was born in Houston and had lived in the Valley for most of her life. She was a veteran of World War II in the WAC's. She was very involved with Veterans organizations in the Valley, especially the Pharr American Legion Post 101. She held various leadership positions at the State and National level and was the only woman ever to serve as the Department Commander of the American Legion for the State of Texas. Patsy also served on the Texas Veterans Commission.
Patsy is survived by her three sons, James B."Jim", Michael and Patrick Palmquist; by 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Roger T. Palmquist and her Son, Timothy.
Patsy was loved and admired by everyone who ever met her.
Visitation was from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Kreidler Funeral Home on N.10th Street., McAllen. A Graveside Service was conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 6, 2012, at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
