William Line to William Smith
This Indenture made this fifth day of March in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and twenty one Betwixt William Line of the County of Jefferson and State of Tennessee of the one part and William Smith of the County of Grainger and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for the consideration of forty dollars to him in hand paid the Receipt is hereby acknowledged the said William Line hath Bargained and Released all the Right title interest claim and demand unto William Smith his heirs and assigns to that part & parcel of land lying and being in the County of Grainger and State aforesaid which part or parcel of land said Line bought of said William Smith Beginning on a white oak and black oak the Beginning Corner of the tract of Land on which John Smith died on Running South forty five East one hundred and twenty poles to a stake, thence South forty five West to the middle of Panther Creek thence down the middle of the said Creek so far as turning North forty five east as will strike the Beginning Corner it being a tract of twenty acres of Land be the same more or less it being a part of a tract of land granted to William Spurgeon by the State of North Carolina and by him conveyed to John Smith and by him to William Smith and by him to William Line To have and to hold... the day and year above written signed sealed and delivered in the presence of
