In the name of God Amen, I John Tinsley of Antrim Parish in the County of Halifax being of perfect sence [sic] and memory praised be god doth make and Constitute and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament as Followeth-
IMPRIMIS I lend to my wife Susannah all my estate both real and Personal during her life ITEM I give to my Daughter Agothey Coker Twenty Shillings Current money to buy her a Ring she having part of my Estate already. ITEM I give to my Daughter Rachel Cargill Twenty Shillings Current money to buy her a Ring she having Part of my estate already. ITEM I give to my son Monoah Tinsley that Tract of Land he Purchased of Robert Evans it being situate lying in the County of Lunenburg as Reference being had to the Record. ITEM I give to my son John Tinsley one negro man named Simon also a Feather Bed & Furnishing and half Dozen Peewter dishes three basons and One Dozen Plates two Cows & Calves. ITEM my desire and order is and I do herby Order that my following salves to wit: Dick, Sam, and Sary, together with all my stocks of Horses, Cattle and household furniture may be sold and after paying my just debts and the money arising my such sale be divided amongst my daughters as followeth, Keziah Tinsley, Ellinor Tinsley, Sarah Tinsley, Elizabeth Tinsley, Mary Tinsley, and I do hereby appoint Drury Allen and Richard Jones Executors of this my last will and Testament as Witness my hand and Seal this Nineteenth day of November in the year of our Lord God One thousand Seven hundred and sixty one.

At a court held for Halifax County the 20th day of May, 1762, The above Written will and Testament of John Tinsley deceased was Exhibited in Court and Proved by the Witness as thereto and ordered to be Recorded and the Executors therein appointed having refused the Executorship on the motion of Susannah Tinsley Widow of Said Testator Certificate is granted her for obtaining letters of administration of the said Testaors Estate with his will annexed being first sworn as the Law directs and with John Cargill, Robert Hutchinson, William Drue & Richard Brown her Securities acknowledged bond for that purpose.
