She had the best laugh and loved hosting parties for her family and friends. She loved to sew and growing up she often made her own clothes. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Ficken, her mother Dorothy Joe (Clayton) Ficken, and brother, William Curtis Ficken. She is survived by her husband, Karl Douglas Sandberg, daughters, Rebecca and Jennifer Sandberg, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Restland Memorial Park at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, July 9th, 2020.

    William Curtis Ficken was born May 11, 1951 and passed away at his home in Lucas, TX on August 16, 2011 from complications following a heart attack. He was a loving father, son, brother, and friend to many. Curt was a graduate of Bryan Adams High School and Stephen F. Austin State University. He was an active member in the band at the Cowboy Church of Collin County. He had a passion for making people laugh and always had a great joke to tell. Curt was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Jo Ficken. He is survived by his father, Arthur Ficken; son, Rob Ficken and wife, Laura; daughter, Andrea Ficken and sister, Liz Sandberg. Services will be held at 12:30PM, Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
