Glen Kinder

HARDIN - Glen Charles Kinder, 69, died at 8:42 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 1992, at Jersey
Community Hospital in Jerseyville.
A U.S. Army WoVld War II veteran and farmer he retired in 1982 as a deckhand with the
state of Illinois Department of Transportation.
Born Sept. 21, 1923, in Golden Eagle, he was the son of the late Paul L. and Lucinda H. (Less eg) Kinder.
He married the former Mildred E. Smith in Pittsfield on Aug. 9, 1958. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Paul David Kinder of Hardin; two daughters, Glenda K. Panek and
Gayle L. Sinclair, both of Jerseyville; six grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn L. Sherman of War renton, Mo.; and a brother, Lavern P. Kinder of Alton.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Hardin, where
services are at 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. R. Ankney will officiate.
Hardin American Legion Post 636 will conduct military graveside rites at Hardin Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hardin, where he was a member, or
to a charity of one's choice.

Glen married Mildred Smith on 4 Aug 1958 in Pittsfield, Pike, Illinois. Mildred (daughter of Charles Abner Smith and Freda Ruth Herter) was born on 12 Aug 1922 in Hardin, Calhoun Co, Illinois; died on 27 Dec 1992 in Hardin, Calhoun Co, Illinois; was buried on 30 Dec 1992 in Hardin Cem, Hardin, Calhoun Co, Illinois. Smith
Robert O Smith, 32, of Bethalto, was found dead Thursday at his home.
A Vietnam War veteran, be was a tractor driver for Owens-Illinois Glass Co.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather. Mr and Mrs Glenn (Mildred) Kinder of Hardin; hi s grandparents.
Charles Smith of Medora and Mrs. Ruth Smith of Hardin, two half sisters. Glenda and Gayla Kin der, both of Hardin; and a half brother. Paul Kinder of Hardin
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at Hanks Funeral Home, Hardin.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hardin Cemetery.
