Generation: 1

  1. 1.  James Ingles was born on 12 Mar 1749 in Berks Co, Pennsylvania; died on 13 Jan 1803 in Bourbon Co, Kentucky; was buried in Ingles Family Cem, Hutchison, Bourbon Co, Kentucky.

    Notes:

    Buried:
CENOTAPH. The grave marker pictured here is a modern one placed in the Ingels Family Cemetery in his remembrance.

Son of James Ingels Sr. and Ruth Harmer.

He and his wife, Catherine Boone DeHart Ingels, are believed to be buried in an unmarked spot a couple hundred yards to the west of this gravesite, on the west side of Bryan Station Road.

Some records say he died in 1803; others say 1815. The 1810 Census (Stoner, Bourbon Co., KY; in which he is erroneously called "James Ingles Senr.") indicates that he was still alive in 1810, making the 1815 date more likely. However, I am leaving the dates above as recorded on the grave marker.
