MOSS BLUFF ? Mrs. Ada Abshire Harrington, 88, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, in a Lake Charles hospital. She was born in Lyons Point in Vermilion Parish. She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons,Horace Harrington of Lafayette,Bobby Harrington of Vinton and Larry Harrington of Baton Rouge; two daughters,Lucy Harrington Barto and
Eula Harrington Dunn, both of Moss Bluff; one brother, Phillip Abshire of Lake Charles; two sisters, Oreline Broussard and Viola Henry, both of Crowley; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, from St. Theodore Catholic Church. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Visitation is 11 a.m.-10 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Ada married Edes Harrington about 1935. Edes (son of Joseph Octave Harrington and Melissa Breaux) was born on 3 Jun 1914 in Louisiana; died on 10 Sep 1998 in Lake Charles, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

So glad you wrote. I haven't developed the Harrington line much; so I've tried to bring it more forward before I wrote you. I think I'm still a couple generations away from your father. Would you mind telling me his father, grandfather, and I should pick the line up at his gr-grandfather.

I going to hazard a guess that we're related, but it's with a good amount of speculation. Rachel Harrington b abt 1750 was married to Joseph Johnson. And it's a given that they're parents to Isaac Johnson. I'm descended from Moses Johnson by two of his daughters; and it's a good possibility that he's a brother to Isaac. With the Charles Harrington line showing up about the same time and same places, I think it's a very good possibility. :)
