Gwen O. Smith, 84 of Port Neches, Texas formerly of Groves, Texas, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013.

Gwen was born February 1, 1929 in Port Arthur, Texas to Cayrden Simmons O'Neal and Pearl Havard O'Neal.

She was a lifelong area resident and graduate of Port Neches High School. She was a retired secretary from Groves School and a member of Woodcrest Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. "R. C." Smith; granddaughter, Wendy Smith; and brother, C.S. O'Neal, Jr.

Survivors include her son, Charles "Chuck" Neal Smith and wife Julia; daughter, Jeffica Lynn Toulouse and husband Mark; sister, Delores Barron; four grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Burial: Greenlawn Memorial Park.
