Clarence W. Anthony died January 4, 1992, one day after his 83rd birthday. He was born in Marlow, Oklahoma to newspaper editor William Bruce Anthony and Sarah Shaw Anthony, who were both born in Tennessee. After graduating from Norman High School, he received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1930. Clarence made his career at Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company, retiring as Senior Vice President for Operations. He was a Registered Professional Engineer and member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engieers.
Clarence was predeceased by his wife, Lucy Mae Anthony and son, Jim Mitchell, and is survived by his sister-in-law, Lillian Anthony of Norman, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Smith of San Antonio, Texas; and grandsons, Mark Mitchell of San Diego, California and Greg Mitchell of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A service of interment will be conducted by Reverend Joe Shackleford at Rose Hill Mausoleum on Tuesday, January 7, 1992 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to St. Luke's Methodist Church, Oklahoma City. Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper Funeral Directors.
