    When Vada was 17, her mother Samatha got sick. Vada went toll her back to Macon and took care of her until she died. After she died she brought her to Ky and buried her 1 mile from where she would be living. She wanted her close to her so she could take care of her.

    The story is that Vada (my grandmother) and her siblings were raised in the orphanage in Macon county. My grandmother left the orphanage a a young teen to help a man David Shaw take care of his sick wife. When Vada was 17, her mother Samatha got sick. Vada went toll her back to Macon and took care of her until she died. After she died she brought her to Ky and buried her 1 mile from where she would be living. She wanted her close to her so she could take care of her. I temeber my mother and her saving the money to buy the stone. She married Davis Shaw after his wife died.

    Vada married Davis Albert Shaw about 1838. Davis was born about 1918; died before 2013 in Allen Co, Kentucky. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
