    Rough-shaped stone, crudely inscribed with initials E.A. and ascribed by the National Aldrich Association to Edward Aldrich. Stands next to a near-duplicate inscribed A.A., presumably 2d wife Ann (Chamberlain) Aldrich. Birth date from vital records of Mendon, MA; death date calculated from inscribed age at death.

    He married (1), 1st July 17, 1732 at Glocester, RI, his 1st cousin Dinah Aldrich. He married (2), by 1762, "Mrs." Ann Chamberlain, probably a widow. He lived first at Douglas, MA, then removed to Richmond, NH, and then about 1785 further north to Franconia. "His sons Rue and John had come to Lisbon in 1780, and gave such glowing accounts of the country that induced [sic] their father to come to Franconia where his son John had settled."

    The births of 12 children were recorded at Uxbridge and Douglas, MA.

Dinah (daughter of Seth Aldrich, Sr. and Deborah Hayward) was born on 3 Apr 1717 in Uxbridge, Worcester Co, Massachusetts; died on 24 Mar 1760 in Douglas, Worcester Co, Massachusetts.
