Mr. Charles Edgar Madden, age 75, a resident of Foreman, AR, died Thursday, June 15, 2006 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana.

He was born September 15, 1930 in Foreman AR to Luther Sydney and Ada Lee Childs Madden. He was a retired crew leader for the Arkansas State Highway Department, a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Korea, attended the Cross Roads Baptist Church, a member of the V.F.W., and a Mason.

Mr. Madden was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clifton Columbus Brownfield; and two sisters, Vera Roberts and Beatrice Bynum.

He is survived by his wife, Iris Jones Madden of Foreman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Larry Cowart and Mary Ann and Scotty Withem, all of Ashdown; four grandchildren and their spouses Crystal and Chris Little and Carla and Todd Moon, all of Ashdown, Eddy and Krissy Withem of Escondido, CA, and Brandon Harrington of Conway, AR; two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Cole Little; the mother of his children and life long friend, Wanda J. Madden of Ashdown; Mr. Madden is also survived by the children of Iris Jones Madden, Rodney Jones of Winthrop, Randy Jones of Foreman, Ricky and Bobbye Jones of White House, TN, Rudene and Brad McCombs of Foreman, and Rachelle and Chad Burrow, also of Foreman; 11 grandchildren, Jonathan, Karin, and Cassidy Jones, Morgan and Justin Jones, Charli Kay, Brady, and MaKayle McCombs, Hannah and Erica Burrow, and Duane Arnett; two sisters, Jo Ann Hicks and Mary Jo Madden, both of Irving, TX.

Funeral Services for Mr. Madden will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 19, 2006 in the First Southern Baptist Church in Crossroads, AR with Dallas Altenbaumer, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Arden Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mr. Withem was born April 7, 1981 in Texarkana, TX to Johnnie Scott and Mary Ann Withem. He was a Sergeant in the Marine Corp, and a member of the City Church of Texarkana, TX. He is preceded in death by his father, Scotty Withem; two grandfathers, Raymond Edward Withem, and Charles E. Madden; one daughter, Briana Hansen.

Survivors include his wife, Roxanne Oliver Withem of Ashdown, AR; mother, Mary Ann Withem Edrington and stepfather, Rick Edrington of Texarkana, AR;
