    Charles and Mary farmed on Cobbs Creek near the county line. They also established a business making caskets, usually for people who were to be buried in McBride Cemetery. Charles made the wooden casket and Mary lined and covered it with cloth. Sometimes they worked all night getting a casket ready and often received no money for their labor.

    Have not been able to verify any documentation on who her parents are; but it seems she must be daughter of Edward and Honor Z because of other family connections.

    First, her daughter Ethel Leone Howell married Joseph S. Davis.
    Joseph S. Davis was son of Charles Crow Davis and Mary Margaret Durbin (b 1860) who was daughter of Aaron Durbin and Martha Massey and granddau of Edward Durbin.

    Meaning Ethel Howell's husband Joseph S. Davis was her mother's great nephew.
