Notes:

Nancy Gabbert Hill. First wife of Silas Hill. They had two sons, James Hill, b. 1837 and John H Hill, b. 27 Feb 1838. She died on 13 Sep 1838, aged 24 years. Her two sons were raised by her parents Jacob and Martha Gabbert, in Bartholomew Co., IN. It is unclear why there are two stones for Nancy Hill, one small and unimposing, and one much larger and more costly. Perhaps the larger was placed by her son, Rev. John H Hill, as a memorial to the mother he never knew.
