    Hi Sherry,

I couldn't find him in 1860. So I went back to 1850. Then I went back to 1860 to find anyone that was in the household with him in 1850. I think he is Jeffries. Probably his nickname??

Married in New York and had two children there. Moved to Ohio where two more children were born, then came to Illinois between 1837 and 1841 where another child was born.

He was listed as one of the first early settlers of Greenwood Township, named in the 1918 History of Christian County. Milo took title to 40 acres of land in the NE qtr. of Section 20 in Greenwood Township; but he eventually acquired about 500 acres in the area, most of it in or near Section 17.
Skinner School, a one room country school, was located on the south edge of Section 17 and presumably named for Milo or one of his sons. (Linda Randles)

With the information I have, I'm thinking that Mylo Skinner is my husband's g-g-grandfather. His sons were: Edwin R, Joseph N, and Morris F and daughters were: Lucy I and Elvira as listed in the 1850 Illinois Census (Christian County, District 22).

In Christian County Genealogical Society Qrtly, Vol 3, # 3, it states that Milo visited younger children and family in MO in 1870 and died while there. Have not been able to verify.

According to the dates and places of birth, I'm almost certain that Joseph N Skinner (b. 5 Nov 1834 in Ohio) must be Jasper N Skinner, married to Julia Ann Busby. They can be found in the 1870 Newton Co, MO census.

Please let me know if you think Jasper is the same as Joseph. Jasper died in IL in 1902. Would appreciate any information available. Thanks!
