    Viola Christine Langwisch, 65. of 100 W. Fifth. Hartford, died at 10:35 p.m. Monday at Wood R iver Township Hospital after an illness since July.
    She was an operator at Olin Corp and was born in Hardin. a daughter of the late James and Rac hel (DeSherlia) Snider.
    On Nov. 24. 1962. she married Frank Langwisch in Wood River and lie survives.
    Also surviving are a son. Frank Jr. of Port Isabel. Texas: a daughter. Sandra Pickett of Hart ford: seven grandchildren: and a sister, Goldie Bizaillion of Wood River.
    Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River where services wil l be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. L. C. Pruehsnerofficiating.
    Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens. Bethalto and the American Canerr Society has bee n named as a memorial

    Conduct Inquest Near Grafton
    James Snider Succumbs to Natural Causes
    JERSEYVILLE.Sept.10 (Special)
    --Deputy Coroner Leslie C. Jacoby went to Grafton Thursday evening where he conducted an inqu est into the death of James William Snider, who died on a farm north of that city about 5:3 0 p. m. It. was determined that Snider had died of natural causes, a cerebral hemorrhage.
    Harold Melton, son-in-law of the deceased testified that Snider had been making his home wit h him
    and his wife for several years. He had complained Thursday morning of not feeling well, but w ent into the fields to do some work. When he failed to return in the evening, Mrs. Melton an d several others
    went to search the fields for him. George Hooper discovered him and reported to the others hi s belief
    that he was dead.
    The others then went with him to the spot where Snider was located, but further examination r evealed that he was still alive. They took him to the house where efforts were made to reviv e him. An attempt was made to get a physician. He succumbed, however, before medical assistan ce could arrive.
    Further testimony showed that Snider had been in bad health the past five years and had suff ered
    several strokes prior to the final one. The deceased was born in Calhoun County, May 10, 1887 , and
    was 62 years, 3 months and 4 days of age at time of his death. The body was taken to Hardin w here
    funeral arrangements were to be made.

    Snider Funeral
    HARD1N. Funeral services for James W. Snider, 62, were conducted at the Hanks funeral chape l Sunday at 2 p. m. by the Rev. R.E. Foulkerts. Burial was in Hardin cemetery.
    Snider died suddenly Thursday evening at the home of a daughter near Grafton. He is survive d by three children and two brothers, Raus and John. His father, William Snider, died Aug. 20 .

    Funeral services for William Snider were conducted by the Rev. Cooke at the Presbyterian Church here Sunday afternoon. Burial was in the Hardin cemetery. Snider died in Alton. He was the father of Raus Snider, who lives northwest of Hardin.

    Of Calhoun Dies
    Mrs. William Snider died Wednesday morning at 10:10 at her home near Hardin after a long illness.
    She was 76 and a native of Calhoun County. Relatives said Mrs. Snider's illness began 26 year s ago. She suffered at intervals from the malady that finally resulted in her death yesterday.
    Surviving besides the husband are three daughters, Mrs. James Peeler and Mrs. Flora Dorman, of Hardin, and Mrs. Gus Rush, of Upper Alton, also three sons, John and Ross Snider, of Hardin, and James Snider, of Pontoon Beach, near Nameoki. There are also a brother, Charles Swain, of Bethalto, and a sister, Mrs. Bess Dalton, of Hannibal, Mo. Eleven grand and seven great grand children also survive.
    The body is at Hanks funeral home at Hardin. Funeral plans were being delayed today until the grandsons in the U.S. Army service can be heard from.

    On the censuses he lists his place of birth as Tennessee. In his Illinois Civil War Detail Report, his nativity is Mount Vernon, Jefferson, Illinois.

    James A. Snyder had the rank of PVT. He was in Company K, Unit 97 IL US INF.

    His place of residence was Newburn, Jersey, Illinois. He was 5'10" with light hair, blue eyes, light complexion. He was married when he registered. His nativity was Mt. Vernon, Jefferson, Illinois.

    Death of Mrs. James Snider.
    Last Saturday Mrs. Emma Armstrong of 2007 Btato street was called to Hardin by a telephone me ssage
    that told of tho serious sickness of her mother, Mrs. James Snider, a long time resident of C alhoun County.
    Mrs. Armstrong reached Hardin in time to see her mother alive, Information reaching here toda y that the
    mother passed away Sunday. She was about 76 years ot age, and had spent all of those years i n Calhoun
    and Jersey counties. She is survived by her husband, three daughters and three sons, all resi dents of Calhoun County except Mrs. Armstrong.
    Many Alton residents knew deceased for many yours and epoak of her as a very kindly woman, an d a good wife, mother and neighbor. She had been afflicted with blindness for several years.
