    Richard and Darlene Watts of Alton announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn, and
    Scott Snider, son of Mary Ann Schell of Jerseyville and John Snider of Godfrey.
    A member of the 1991 graduating class of Marquette High School in Alton, the bride-elect
    attended Illinois State University in Normal.
    She is now attending Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where she is majoring in sp ecial education and works with the Alton Belle Casino.
    After graduation in 1988 from Jersey Community High School, the prospective bridegroom
    attended Aurora University and received a degree in 1992. He is completing his juris doctorat e
    at Washburn University School of Law and works with the law firm of Ascough, Eschmann, Oyle r P.A.
    The are planning an Aug. 6, 1994, wedding at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in
    Alton. Following the 2 p.m. ceremony, the newlywed couple will be honored at a reception at t he Alton Holiday Inn.

    Kathryn Watts and Scott Snider were married at 2 p.m. Aug. 6 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholi c Church in Alton.
    She is the daughter of Richard and Darlene Watts of Alton. He is the son of John Snider of Go dfrey and Mary Ann Schell of Jerseyville.
    Julie Kercher was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Cathy Hagarty, Julie Hack, Jill
    Fair, Lisa Schaefer and Justine Watts.
    Kenny Kallal was the best man. Groomsmen were Johnny Snider, Matt McLain, Tom Parascandola, C hris Fraley and Dan Hagarty.
    The Rev. Tom Meyer performed the ceremony. A reception was held at the Holiday Inn on
    Alton.
    The bride is a substitute employee for the Topeka school system. She is a graduate of Illinoi s
    State University at Normal and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
    The groom is with the law firm of Ascough, Eschmann, Oyler, P.A. He is a graduate of
    Washburn University School of Law, where he received his juris doctorate, and of Aurora Unive rsity, where he received his bachelor of arts.
    Their honeymoon was a cruise to the Bahamas. They live in Topeka.

    HARDIN John L. Snider, 76, of Hardin, died at 1:15p.m. Saturday at Calhoun Medical Center, Ha rdin.
    He was a custodian in the Alton school system before retiring.
    He is survived by his widow, Marie Beer; a daughter, Mrs Julia Ann Hazelwonder of Godfrey ; a son, Don W. of Jerseyville; six grandchildren; and a brother, Thedore. of Hardin
    Friends may call after 4 p m today at Hanks Funeral Home. Hardin
    Services will be conducted at 2 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home by Mrs William Sharp
    Burial will be in Hardin Cemetery.

    HARDIN - Marie Josephine Snider, 82, died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at her home .
    A daughter of the late John and Louisa (Mielke) Beer, she was born June 20, 1918, in Hardin.
    She married John Leonard Snider Feb. 17, 1939. He died May 7,1977.
    Surviving are a son, John W. Snider of Grafton, six grandchildren, eight greatgrandchildren
    and a sister, Pauline Matthews of Hardin.
    She was preceded in death by two daughters, Julia Ann Hazelwonder and an infant, June Snider.
    Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. today at Hanks- Gubser Fune ral Home in Hardin with the Rev. Paul D. Frazier officiating.
    Burial will follow in Hardin. City Cemetery.
    Memorials may be given to a charity of one's choice.

    Funeral services for William Snider, father of Mrs, Flora Dorman of 20 West. Penning, Wood River, who died Friday, will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m.in the Presbyterian Church at Hardin by the Rev.Krank Cook, Burial will be in Hardin cemetery. The body is at Hanks funeral home, Hardin.

    Funeral services for William Snider were conducted by the Rev. Cooke at the Presbyterian Church here Sunday afternoon. Burial was in the Hardin cemetery. Snider died in Alton. He was the father of Raus Snider, who lives northwest of Hardin.

    Of Calhoun Dies
    Mrs. William Snider died Wednesday morning at 10:10 at her home near Hardin after a long illness.
    She was 76 and a native of Calhoun County. Relatives said Mrs. Snider's illness began 26 year s ago. She suffered at intervals from the malady that finally resulted in her death yesterday.
    Surviving besides the husband are three daughters, Mrs. James Peeler and Mrs. Flora Dorman, of Hardin, and Mrs. Gus Rush, of Upper Alton, also three sons, John and Ross Snider, of Hardin, and James Snider, of Pontoon Beach, near Nameoki. There are also a brother, Charles Swain, of Bethalto, and a sister, Mrs. Bess Dalton, of Hannibal, Mo. Eleven grand and seven great grand children also survive.
    The body is at Hanks funeral home at Hardin. Funeral plans were being delayed today until the grandsons in the U.S. Army service can be heard from.
