WILL: dated 17 Sep 1689, proved 12 Jun 1690; Joseph Hawley, yeoman, sometime Justice of the Peace; "my now" wife Katharine; sons Samuel, Ephriam, John; Samuel's son Joseph; grandchild John and Joseph Chapman at Saybrook; daus Hannah Nichols and Mary Coe; land at Woodbury; Capt. John Beard to put a final issue to any difference; Mr. Israel Chauncey, L5; Inventory 4 Jun 1690

DEED: he records in Stratford Land Records "the lands of John Hawley purchased of Richard Mills, 1650"
1668, with Henry Tomlinson, purchased several hundred acres in Derby, disposed of in his will
