Findagrave and several trees show him to be son of George "Abraham" Raisor and Elizabeth Witcher. They also show Frederick to be his brother.

Findagrave shows some sons of Jacob Raisor as Jacob, George, Alford, who seem to be brothers of James Harvey.

James Harvey Raisor was born ca 1798 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to George 'Abraham' Raisor and Elizabeth Witcher. The grandson of two revolutionary patriots. His maternal grandfather, MAJ William Witcher, was a notable, justice, colonial planter, constable, early miller, and Virginia Militia officer.

MAJ Witcher's daughter, Elizabeth, married a neighbor, George 'Abraham' Raisor, who had served in her father's company, during the Revolution. That union produced at least seven children over more than 30 years of wedded life. Alas, we learn from one of their descendants,* that Abraham abandoned his wife and children, ostensibly because of Elizabeth's "irascible" [sic] temper.

But, who knows what goes on between a couple. This may have had an effect on the young James Harvey's development as he was married three times: first to [Esther] "Hettie" Shoemaker on 16 Aug 1825, in Spencer County. Their children include:

Wife of Frederick Razor. Married July 9, 1817 in Shelby County Kentucky. The Razor, Smoot, and Clements families said to have come from Virginia to Kentucky through the Cumberland Gap with Daniel Boone.
There are differences in genealogy claiming that Frederick Razor married first Elizabeth Fishbeck of the Germanna Colony family of northern Virginia. The marriage to Elizabeth Reasor in 1817 is verified. Frederick's ten children were born between 1818 and 1842.

There was a later marriage of Frederick in 1852 to another Elizabeth, the widow of Pleasant Paris of Spencer County Kentucky. It appears to not be widely known that Frederick Razor died and was buried in Paris Cemetery Spencer County Kentucky, clearly in 1875 as per his tombstone photo beside Elizabeth (Esum) Razor c1800 to c1889, the last marriage (1880 Census).
