Description: John Thomas Nicholson was born 25 dec 1852, died 17 nov 1840, married Sarah Alice (Sallie) Bruce 1893. John's father was George W. Nicholson born in Kentucky 1809, died 1895, Meigs Co. Tennessee. He was a Steamboat Capt. On Tennessee River until he married 1st wife Mariah Allison. They had 5 children and she died. George then married Margaret McConnell 1852. They had 3 children, John Thomas, Elizabeth, George. Margaret and children Elizabeth, George died between 1860 & 1870. John was a steamboat engineer and spent his life working on the river.
