1758, July 24: Voter in George Washington election in the Virginia Tax Records. A Laughlin listed in list for G.W.; also a Laughlin listed in list for Mr. West.
Frederick Co. VA Deed Book #12, page 487, Aug 5, 1768 - John Madden grants power of attorney to John Moffatt of Fauquier Co to lease 123 acres in Prince William County, this land granted by Leonard Helm (patent Jan 15, 1726).
Deed Book 14, p 305 - Deed of Release - April 29, 1770:
Mabary Madden and wife Jane; Loughland Madden and Ann, and John Madden of Frederick County, Va., to Robert Rutherford 100 acres between Shenandoah River Opeckon Creek, part of grant to John Madden, decd. Mabra Madden John Madden heirs at law of John Madden, Decd.
Migrated to South Carolina with his brother John Madden.
Died during the Revolutionary War.
Names of all his children are not known. [Ann Lackey Lamb research], however, other researchers show that his children were George and Thomas. George could possibly be the son of William Madden, Laughlin's brother.
