    Notes:

Tarleton Blevins, the eldest son of Stephen, Sr. died intestate probably in early 1841 in Missouri. Stephen Blevins, Sr. was appointed as administrator of his estate on October 2, 1941. Security was posted by Andrew Blevins and Davis B. Wood. Tarleton Blevins' heirs were Stephen Blevins, Sr. and the following brothers and sisters: Daniel Blevins of Caldwell County, Missouri; Elisha Blevins of Bates County, Missouri; Edward Corder,, Ezekiel Blevins, Rebecca Woods (formerly Rebecca Blevins), Rachel Blevins, William Blevins, Riley Blevins, and John Blevins, all of Johnson County, Missouri.

Theory that James, Edward and Franky are siblings and children if E.R. Corder is,
first: E.R. Corder is nearby Daniel Blevins in 1840 Caldwell, MO census. Daniel m Franky Blevins, Daniel's daughter.

second: Tarlton's estate settled by dividing among siblings: Edward Corder listed as a brother as he was the husband of his sister.

third: Rebecca Blevins Woods also listed as a sister. She married 2nd James Corder, as proven by marriage record of James Corder and Rebecca Woods marry.

fourth: James was in Whitley Kentucky, age 20-29 (1811-1820; wife of same age, and a son and dau under 5. The Blevins had lived in Whitley before going to Missouri. Franky Corder (his apparent sister) had married Daniel Blevins there in 1822, and their first two sons were born there in 1825 and 1826. Elisha Blevins, Daniel's brother, also married Polly McKee there in 1819. In fact, Rebecca was born in KY; so likely it was Whitley.
They are in Missouri by 1833 when Rebecca marries and Edward and Frankly's first child is born. (if Rebecca was indeed born 1820, she was only 13!!) So, it looks like the families left KY and went to MO between 1826 and 1833. It's likely that James' 1st family went as well.
By 1850, Rebecca is widowed and head of household with 4 Wood children and one daugher, Nancy Corder. What happened to James' first wife and kids?

The Blevins had been on the move, tracking their path of migration through the birth of their children. The first one were born Virginia, then in Tennessee, then Rebecca in Kentucky.

Edward married Elizabeth Blevins on 5 Oct 1837 in Warrensburg, Johnson Co, Missouri. Elizabeth (daughter of Stephen Blevins, Sr. and Christina (..) Blevins) was born in 1818 in Tennessee; died after 1880 in of, Hazel Hill, Johnson Co, Missouri. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  2. 3.  Elizabeth Blevins was born in 1818 in Tennessee (daughter of Stephen Blevins, Sr. and Christina (..) Blevins); died after 1880 in of, Hazel Hill, Johnson Co, Missouri.

    Marriage record:
    Edward Corder m Elizabeth Perman
5 Oct 1837 Johnson Co, Missouri

NOTE: Marriage record of Edward Corder to Elizabeth Parman. Most researchers seem to be showing her as daughter of Jacob Parman and wife Desey; however that is incorrect. She was Elizabeth Blevins, daughter of Stephen Blevins, Sr.
First and foremost, the most conclusive evidence is the fact that Tarleton Blevins, son of Stephen Blevins, Sr., died intestate in 1841 and the father took care of business. The estate was to be divided amongst his siblings, listing a brother "Edward Corder," one and the same who married "Elizabeth Perman." Parman had to be a 1st husband.
As the families, Blevins and Corder are traced through the decades of census records, they are clearly together in Whitley County, Kentucky, then move to Missouri. Edward's brother James marries Rebecca Blevins, daughter of the above Stephen Blevins, and sister of Elizabeth, his brother Edward's wife.
These families are side by side in every census from 1830 to 1880, last census that Elizabeth and Edward are recorded. Parmars are no so previlantly in their "clique" until 1880 when they are next door on either side.
To know how those Parmans are related, we look at Rebecca Blevins Corder, married to James, Edward's brother and Elizabeth's sister. She was previous married with children named Wood. Two of the Wood daughters married two Parman brothers, sons of Jacob and Desey Parman (Rachel Wood & William Parman in 1860 and Elizabeth Wood m John T. Parman 1857). Those young couples are who are living next door to Elizabeth and Edward in 1880. The wives are Elizabeth's nieces; not the husbands her brothers. If Elizabeth had been a Parman, then her sister's girls married their uncles by marriage, not likely.
And last, there doesn't seem to be any real substantiation that Jacob and Desey even had a daughter Elizabeth that I can find. In fact, it appears that he married and started his family around 1820, a bit late for Elizabeth, b 1818. It's not likely that any of Jacob/Desey sons was her first marriage, but it seems more likely she had married one of John and William Parman's uncles; but she was not born a Parman. Her descendants are descended from the Blevins family.

    Children:
    1. Thomas Jefferson Corder was born in 1837 in Missouri; died after 1870 in Hazel Hill, Johnson Co, Missouri.
    2. 1. Elias H. Corder was born in 1839 in Missouri; died after 1850 in of, Warrensburg, Johnson Co, Missouri.
    3. Mary F. Corder was born in 1844 in Warrensburg, Johnson Co, Missouri; died after 1850 in of, Hazel Hill, Johnson Co, Missouri.
    4. Nancy J. Corder was born in 1847 in Warrensburg, Johnson Co, Missouri; died after 1860 in of, Hazel Hill, Johnson Co, Missouri.
    5. Mahala Corder was born in 1863 in Johnson Co, Missouri; died after 1870 in of, Hazel Hill, Johnson Co, Missouri.

Generation: 3

  1. 4.  E.R. Corder, (not son) was born between 1771 and 1780 in Virginia (son of John Corder, Jr. and Mrs. Gracy (..) Corder); died after 1840 in of, Blythe, Caldwell Co, Missouri.

    Other Events and Attributes:

    • Census: 1830, Whitley Co, Kentucky
    • Census: 1840, Blythe, Caldwell Co, Missouri

    Notes:

Placed as child here only for speculation and study; however, several things make it seem feasible that he comes from this family, probably from John Jr. rather than John III. However, he is not mentioned in John, Jr.\'s will.

New note: Laura Henderson wrote to say that she believes E. R. Corder of Whitley Co KY was actually Edward Corder III, son of Edward and Susannah Oney Corder of Tazewell Co VA. He was living in Wayne Co KY in 1820 with his brother, Stephen Corder, and they had another brother, Richard, who moved to Tennessee. They had a brother named Elijah who died as a young man in Tazewell.

We think that the Edward Corden Sr. who was living in Wayne Co in 1820 (where Blevins families also lived) was born between 1770-1775, which dovetails with your estimated birth dates.

    Old notes continued...
Elisha Corder (b 1786 John Corder/Way) had a son Wm Franklin, called himself Frank.
E.R. is not Elisha because Elisha died in 1828 VA and E.R. was in Caldwell Co, Missouri in 1840 and in Whitley KY in 1830.

    E.R. Corder had a daughter \"Franky.\"
    Franky named a child Elisha,
