Notes: He moved to Lawrence Co IL in 1809 from Mason Co KY. The family originated in Warm Springs, Bath Co VA (fomerly Augusta Co VA). Fort Allison was located on his property and used as a shelter during the War of 1812. He was a lay preacher for the Primitive Baptist Church and a Blacksmith by trade. Samuel & Phoebe had 10 children, 7 sons & 3 daughters Samuel married Phoebe Young in 1770 in Kentucky. Phoebe was born in 1753 in Kentucky; died in 1820 in South Carolina.
