Delilah Fine

Notes:

Probably a granddaughter of Thomas Fine (abt 1728 NJ) and Agnes Merchant (abt 1730 NJ). They moved to Norfolk VA and had children there. The oldest, Vinet Fine is thought by some researchers to be the husband of Sarah Lovelady, believed to be a daughter of John Lovelady and Sarah Morgan(?) but also not verified. The info in this website pretty well rules out that likelihood, as well, due to time and place, as well as he is documented to be married to Effie McElwain in Virginia.

"Another Virginia account, though unsubstantiated, noted John Lovelady, born about 1735, and wife Agnes Merchant had a daughter Sarah, born about 1752. Sarah married Vinot "Vincent" Fine circa 1770 near New Market, Shenandoah County, Virginia. The Fines later migrated to Cocke County, Tennessee, where valid records document this family."

Delilah married Nicholas Shrum on 19 Jul 1821 in Montgomery Co, Missouri. Nicholas (son of Peter Shrum and Sarah Rebecca "Becca" Lovelady) was born on 5 Sep 1803 in Smith Co, Tennessee; died on 20 Sep 1880 in Marion Co, Oregon. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
