    I have never gotten behind George and his
    brother Gideon. Would love more information. My greatgrandmother was Lucretia Shelton, married to John Brown.

    the Rev. Thomas Hanks and other Hanks relatives had moved to Texas before it became a state. Around 1845, while in their 60's, John and Anna Jane followed them, settling in Anderson County. They settled near the new community of Tennessee Colony. At the same time, most of their children, grandchildren and many other relatives and families came too. Here John and Anna Jane lived the remainder of their lives. John is often referred to as John Bird Woolverton, He died on 22 Aug 1863, Anna Jane died the following year. Two of his sons were named executors of his estate. Shortly before his death, he sold his land to Thomas Hudson..
