A resident of Beaumont for over twenty-five years, he was a retired supervisor with Fort Bend County Clerks Office in Rosenberg.

He was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II as a bugler.

Survivors include his daughter, Kae Whitman; son, Terry Wayne Massey and his wife Patti; grandchildren, Alicia Whitman, Brian Whitman, T.J. Massey and Lisa Massey; and one great grandson, Ryan Massey.

Betty Rae Massey, 74, of Vidor died Jan. 24, 2001, at Spring Seasons Nursing Home.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at North End Baptist Church in Beaumont with burial at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary in Beaumont. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary.

She was a longtime resident of Beaumont before moving to Vidor.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Wayne Massey of Vidor; son, Terry Massey of Ooltewah, Tenn.; daughter, Kae Whitman of Vidor; and four grandchildren.

Rebel Beckham Jones was the son of Cyrus Y Jones and Nancy A Jones according to the 1920 Federal Census of Beaumont, Texas. He was a moulder for a supply company. His father was a wagon driver for a refinery. Rebel was the oldest of four brothers born to the family which was living at 1591 Fannin Street in Beaumont.
In 1942 Rebel registered for the draft in World War II. He lived at 1776 College Street and was working for Oil City Brass Company. He listed his place of birth as Liberty, TX.
