Description: My GG grandpa "Paschal" C. Grammier.

My aunt, Marie (his G grand-daughter), and I were discussing Paschal the other day.

Aunt Marie, said her mother-- Agnes Marie Grammier -- told her the story of PASCHAL going to work in Galveston,Tx.

And on September 8, 1900 "The Hurricane of 1900" which is the worst disater in American History occurred, and PASCHAL was never seen or heard from again.

My Grand-Mother {Agnes}, also told the story to us, when she lived with us, before her demise how the family was devastated, and (grandma, being abt. 8 yrs. old) had to move in with her GRAND-MOTHER -- "Paschal's wife" to help care for her.

About 6,000 people perished in that Hurricane, and probably other families have no "DEATH RECORD" for their loved ones. I hope if you run across any Galveston Indexes of the victims you can help us get closure.

    Thank you.

G.W. Hargraves who was captain of a little Beaumont Company of militia in August, 1835, had sixty-two men under him, twenty of whom took part in the battle of the Alamo. He also was at the head of twenty-one volunteers who started to join houston to stop the advance of Santa Anna, but the battle of San Jacinto was fought before they reached that place, and they were ordered to rout some hostile Indians north of the town.
